A Nautical Marine Chronometer Clock in beautifully finished mahogany wood box with brass trimmings. Very collectible for use on boats or as a desk clock.This clock was made in 1975 by Jean Lassale of Geneva Switzerland, per the attached advertisement. It is quite hard to find today and seldom comes on the market. The example here is offered in excellent condition, with original, high-gloss wood finish, and unpolished brass with its original patina. The clock is exceptionally well made.... It is an authentic reproduction of the classic style Marine Chronometers used on ships and is executed in solid wood and brass to original, old world standards. The clock is fitted with a movement of modern design, using a high quality, battery operated Swiss quartz movement. It is one of the finest examples of clocks from this period.This clock was apparently sold in similar configurations under other brands including the Dunhill Brand. Please note that this model uses the Brass encased metal Swiss movement, instead of the W. German movement with plastic parts found in some models. The clock is running fine on a new battery.The clock has as two Lids: The upper Lid has a Push button. The lower Lid which has a Key Lock, opens to Expose the Clock with a full gimbal mount, that can be tilted and locked in a level position.
