It depicts a striding tiger on leaf strewn jungle floor, and is signed "P.J. Mene, " It measures 7 1/4" tall x 10 1/2" long. The piece was cast c. 1850 - 1870, likely late during Mene's lifetime. It has a foundry mark on the back (as shown).The sculpture is in excellent condition, free of dents, dings, or restorations. There is wear to the patina on the tiger's back, commensurate with age and use.
