Themount and thumbscrew are solid silver and it screws down toclamp the steel hook in place. This allowsthe hook size to be changed but it just has theone tiny steel hook. The silver has the Dutch dagger silver hallmarksuses for 833/1000 pure silver from 1814-1905. The agate isin excellentcondition with no chips or crac...ks.The hookis intactand is about an American steel size 13. It screws down to hold the hooksecurely and itmeasures 5 3/8"long with the hook in place. Asthis one has a thumbscrew, it's more likely for tambour work thancrocheting. Similar examplesare shown on p. 152 of Kay Sullivan'sbook Needlework Toolsand Accessories - A Dutch Tradition.
