A very superb and important Italian pottery compoteEarly circa 1880
Very unique 3 sided form.
Beautiful scenery inside with bright colors. On the outside features a raised design.
Ulisse Cantagalli was a superb artist of his time. He had mastered the ruby and golden luster techniques of Mastro Giorgio Andreoli.
Has blue cockerel mark on base
measures: 12 1/4" W x 12 1/2" L x 6 3/8" H on the highest sidebowl depth ar...ea is just under 2"
condition is very good, with some paint/finish flakes which do not jump out and take a little effort to see.there are no breaks or cracks that i can find.
