SIGNATURES/MARKINGS: It is not signed/marked as expected for age. COMMENTS: Extra nice old Owen's Valley Paiute / western Shoshone basket with a beautiful old patina and a classic "Stair step to Heaven" design. Made on a single rod willow coiling clockwise it has a whip stitched rim and devil's claw design elements. Nice fine coil size of approximately 5 coils to the inch and approximately 11 stitches per running inch. This basket looks to be c.1920s or before. Fit for any level collecting from growing through investment grade it can make a GREAT GIFT for a loved one or keep for your display and it has NO RESERVE ! In the rare instance something is damaged in shipping it will be the buyer's sole responsibility to process the claim at the post office.
