This belonged to my great grandmother who bought it after the 1904 earthquake directly from the Jorgensen studios. It has been on display in my family for years but my children don’t want it and I’m in my 60s and want to see it go to somebody who could appreciate it. This beautiful large Limoges or Bavaria porcelain Jardiniere Is expertly handpainted by Thomas Peter Sophus Jorgensen who in 1906 established a China painting studio in Oakland California. Featured on this master works... artists work of art are oversize Crimson and purple roses with a touch of lavender in the background and lush various color leaves expertly painted in an art nouveau style. A radiant coin gold accentuates the wide rim flowing down into the floral pattern. It stands from its golden rim to its round base 7 1/2 inches high and is 28 inches in circumference at its widest point. This handpainted and artists and beauty is in excellent condition.
