Very Unusual Julius Vom Hofe Raised Pillar German Silver Salmon Reel, 3 3/4" in dia. not including pillar mounts. This one has a couple of odd features including a face mounted click switch (functional) and a rear mounted brake lever that has spring tension keeping it in the brake mode normally.  To get the reel to spin freely (without brake) you depress the lever (by design). There is also a tension screw near the lever that allows you to adjust the brake tension by screwing it d...own. For some reason the handle has limited threads, the spool threads are perfect, so to be safe I added loctite to keep the handle from backing off (it is very secure). This is a very impressive reel, functionally perfect and Ex. in appearance, no chips cracks or scratches and a perfect foot marked 4 1/4.  I have tried to find any catalog or other reference information describing this reel and to date have found nothing, I believe it might be fairly rare.
