This antique Chinese dragon robe woven silk fabric opulent Art Deco gold lame evening opera cape cloak dates from the 1920s. It is made of an older 19th century antique Chinese jifu Longpao dragon robe sheer summer weave black gauze fabric with a colorful hand embroidered pict...orial design of gold couching thread work "long" five clawed dragons, with a gold silk woven braided trim edging. The Chinese fabric has been created into an amazing Art Deco style elegant evening opera cape cloak, with a sheer black silk chiffon fabric covering the large shawl capelet collar, a silver hammered rhinestone cloak pin clasp closure at the neck and is fully lined in an iridescent pinkish flesh color silk rayon fabric inside giving off a gold lame luster illusion from underneath. The cape measures 38 inches long, with a 38 inch chest. It is in good condition, with only a few small faint stains on the inside fabric lining underneath and some hand stitching along the front top opening. This is truly an exquisite rare piece of antique Chinese textile art meets Art Deco Westernized wearable art!
