Antique MONARCH Cajun SQUEEZE BOX Accordion Made In Germany For B&J VERY RARE
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:27359343 | Time Period Manufactured: Pre-1930 |
This Antique, Cajun Squeeze Box Accordion, was made by Monarch in Germany, in the early 1900’s. The great legends of early Cajun Music either played a Monarch or wished for one, players such as A...mede' Ardoin and Iry Lejeune.
Small in its size, it measures just 12” x 12” & 6” in height. It weighs only 4lbs & 11oz.On the top, marked in a gold, it reads: Silver Medal Winner Antwerp 1885 & Gold Medal Winner Leipzig 1897.Made Expressly for B&J, Sole Importers. Built like an Organ, Extra Broad, Handmade Separate Reeds. This Instrument was made, Manufactured with High Standards, in a dark black, with silver trimmings & beautiful white bellows.I don’t see any rips or punctures in the bellows & when opened & closed, she still pulls & pushes air very well. All the keys when pressed, open and close as they should. The original cloth handles are present, though one is ripped (as pictured) and they should be replaced. Also, there is something inside that moves around & I am unsure what it is.
Please note, I search for all types of Antiques & have sold many instruments. However, the Accordion I am not very knowledgeable on. This was such a unique & small one, it for sure caught my eye. In my research, I’ve been unable to find much information on this particular instrument.
Please ask any & all questions prior to placing bids. I am happy to help with anything you’re curious about. Please note, I ship very fast & exceptionally secure, to ensure you receive your item exactly how it is pictured. Please view the detailed photographs, as they are the best description. I do not end auctions early to sell for offers, the winning bidder will be the new owner. Thank you & Good Luck!Corey~
