Offeredtoday is this antique ICE CHIPPER. It wasmade circa 1884 by the North Brothers Manufacturing Company in Philadelphia, PA.Thisis called the “CROWN” chipper, due to the pointed portions that actuallychipped the ice. Overall length is 10 1/2 inches. Metal piece is about 4 1/2 inches long. Wood handle has a brass fitting where it is attached to the metal piece. Total handle is about 6 1/4 inches long (metal part and wood overlap some, as you can see... in the photos).Itis HEAVY metal with a good, solid wood handle. It is marked: NORTH BROS. MFG. Co. There is some pitting to the metal and some rust on the inside of the “crown”portion.
