Joanies is very excited to be offering a large four-day important family estate collection. This prominent family of Doctors resided in China between 1890-1960 and during this time acquired a vast array of rare and important objects that have never been offered until now. This includes a vast array of Asi...an art examples, fine jades, snuff bottles, bronzes, porcelain, important Archaic works, and more.
A number of the items being offered were scheduled to be sent to New Yorks’s high end auctions, but due to large sale delays this year the estate had asked us to offer All the items. A great and rare opportunity to acquire some investment-grade examples.
Over the past 20 years Joanies has hosted Hundreds of estate auctions, auctioning upwards of a hundred thousand fine estate items during this time. Up for auction is a PAIR ANTIQUE JAPANESE MEIJI GILT BRONZE SAMURAI SCHOLAR FIGURES OKIMONO SIGNED. Part of an important estate collection being offered this week that includes several fine Japanese art examples.
An interesting set of two Japanese bronze figures that we believe would date 100 or so years old. Nicely detailed, the one figure also has artists seal mark that is well worth looking into.
Condition: Estate-fresh the figures could use a light cleaning if desired and are otherwise in fine antique condition as seen.
Size: The figures themselves measure 9 3/4 and 10 inches tall. The two figures has a quality solid bronze weigh of 5136 grams, or 11.3 pounds.
