Very rare and beautiful, ca1920's Large Size Pair of Native American Sioux Indian Bead Decorated Hide Moccasins with figural eagles.
This outstanding Pair of early 20th century Sioux Moccasins each measure approx. 11 1/4" long at their commercially tanned, hide sole. The decoration is very beautiful and executed using chalk white, cobalt blue, light blue, red, pump[kin and greasy yellow colored beads. These wonderful Sioux Indian Moccasins are sinew sewn and ...they feature contiguous, fully beaded cuffs and applied, fully beaded tongues. The bead decoration includes traditional, geometric designs along with a spread wing eagle with an American Flag form shield breast on the tongue and the center of the vamp of each Moccasin. The eagle resembles the eagle found on the Great Seal of the United States.
The Moccasins offered here are unconditionally guaranteed original and of the period. They are NOT reproductions or modern recreations but original Sioux Moccasins crafted in the early 20th century. This very rare and very beautiful, Pair of ca1920's Sioux Bead Decorated Moccasins are in excellent condition. The beadwork is very beautiful and exceptionally well preserved with no loss or damage of any kind. All of the hide elements are sound, soft and supple and without damage or repairs of any kind.
