Chinese large Blue and White Porcelain jar and matching top, 18 1/2" high, 5 1/2" diameter-top rim, approx 11" widest in the middle section.
Double Happiness among scrolling vines and snow peas with very fine brush strokes in old under glaze medium shade of blue decoration. This type of straits under glaze blue and brush strokes with fine lines were produced before 1900, between 1850 to 1880's.
It has four character Chenghua marks but not of the period.
In very good cond...ition with a few rough nibbles on lid rim, but not visible as chips.
A beautiful piece for your home.
