This is a beautiful antique example of Arts and Crafts furniture. We bought this in Woodstock, New York about 40 years ago at a church fundraiser. They said it might have been made at the old Byrdcliffe Art colony about a mile from the sale around 1900. I am not sure, but I believe the wood may be local wood from the area. It is nicely carved and on the side panels the background looks like it might have a slight green tint and the raised carving a honey color.... It appears to be all original, even the patina except there is a little purple fabric in the inside that may have been added, it comes right out. The stand is in good shape for its age. The top lifts open. It stands about 19" high. The base about 10" wide all around. The top is about a 14" square. This one is hard to part with. We hope you really enjoy it as much as we have!
