I'moffering a very old Wood beer Keg or barrel stamped Löwenbräu München on thetop. The bottom side is open. There are 2 ‘holes’ in the main section used inconjunction with the tap. This wasacquired at an antique store in Munich, Germany in 1978 and shipped to theUS. It has been used as a cocktail tablein a man cave ever since. I used a ¼”thick 15” round piece of glass on top and it is a good height for a table. You could use for display ...in your home or asa great conversation item if you are a bar owner or beer distributor. Löwenbräutranslates to Lions Beer and has been brewed in Munich, Germany since 1383 or abit less than 400 years since the USA was founded or 109 years before Columbusdiscovered America. They still operatetoday and are a major participant in the world’s largest Octoberfest heldannually in Munich. Thekeg or barrel was made by a cooper using wood staves and 4 iron bands. This keg weighs 41.4 lbs. It is 17 ¾” tall. Diameter at the top/bottom is 12 7/8”. Circumference is 50 ¼” in the middle and 42”at top/bottom. Capacity of the kegis/was approximately 42 liters or 11.1 gallons. Itis unlikely that there are many wood kegs from Löwenbräu like this in theUS. I have searched auction sites, Craigslist and the general internet and couldn’t find another authentic andcomplete keg like this. Here is a chance to own a ‘One of a Kind’ inyour neighborhood.
