You are bidding on an antique EXCEPTIONAL Katipunan dagger from the Philippines dating from around 1900. This is an interesting historical dagger revealing the links between the Katipunans and other Masonic Secret Societies. The Dagger has a pyramid on the scabbard and a chain with other Egyptian symbols linked to the Gran Oriente de España. Few paragraphs about the founder of the Katipunans: Andres Bonifacio, the founder of the Katipunan and popularly known as the Great Plebeian, was a Mason. He was indeed one of our greatest Masonic heroes, among the ranks of Jose Rizal, Apolinario Mabini, Emilio Aguinaldo, Marcelo H. del Pilar, Antonio Luna and Juan Luna. Andres Bonifacio was a member of Gran Oriente Español (Spanish Grand Lodge). He founded the Katipunan, a secret society that sought independence from Spain through armed revolt. This was likely own by an early Katipunan linked to the Masons, who knows maybe Bonifacio himself. The dagger is solid and made for use. It is 15.25 inches from which the blade is 11 inches.
