Here's a light literally built like a tank, with thick and heavy cast-aluminum housing, lens holder, yoke, and base. It weighs 31 pounds! We estimate it was made approximately 90-100 years ago due to its mercury glass reflector -- you just don't see mercury-glass mirrored reflectors in anything built after 1930. Incredibly, that reflector is in undamaged condition, just like the rest of the fixture. We have two of these incredible spotlights, priced individually. Both fixtures are iden...tical with minor variations in patina. For safety and compliance with today's codes, we replaced their electrical components, including a new grounded, glazed porcelain ceramic socket and vintage-style 3-prong power cord. Some of the original fasteners holding the lens retainer were corroded beyond the point of being safe or effective, and those were replaced with new brass and stainless-steel hardware. The lenses are new, scratch-free, double strength glass, cushioned within their holder with new gaskets. The new sockets hold typical medium-base light bulbs. Changing the bulb is easy and takes less than a minute: simply loosen the brass wing nuts securing the lens holder, swing each fastener out of the way, and remove the lens assembly. These lights have beefy 8"-diameter bases for easy mounting to a table, tripod, wall, or ceiling. You can angle the light by simply loosening the stainless-steel bolts that secure the main housing to the yoke. As we do with all of our fixtures, we disassembled these lights down to the tiniest fastener, cleaned everything thoroughly, replaced any suspect hardware, and replaced the old asbestos gaskets with appropriate, safe, high-temperature gaskets. The sturdy bases on these fixtures allow them to be mounted on a ceiling, wall, or any other surface including a tabletop or tripod. If you have any questions please contact us; we will get right back to you. We carefully disassemble each fixture down to the smallest screw, then refurbish each part. For example, all electrical contact surfaces are cleaned and restored, threaded surfaces are "chased" with taps and dies, and lubricants applied sparingly where needed. We keep the fixtures fully original, only replacing parts when corrosion or safety concerns dictate a new part, such as a new stainless steel screw in place of an old rusted one, or a new gasket in place of a worn or asbestos one. Each fixture is rewired and ready to hang. *Restored and preserved to retain their natural and intrinsic vintage look. We don't "wring the romance" from fixtures by excessively removing all traces of patina. Instead, metal surfaces are cleaned lightly but completely while preserving the natural patina gained over decades. The parts may be treated to retain the patina and prevent future corrosion. Glass is cleaned thoroughly. Porcelain surfaces are cleaned gently but thoroughly. *Tested and guaranteed to work perfectly. Before any fixture leaves our workshop it is tested to ensure it works properly. Please check our flawless feedback. *Packaged extremely well for safe arrival and shipped within 24 hours.
