What are you bidding on today is a rare carved tortoise shell hexagonal brush pot, this is by far one of the nicest tortoise shell pieces that I have seen in a very long time.This brush pot is made up of 6 carved shell panels each with a different design. There lotus flowers and leaves, bamboo, prunus blossom tree, birds all beautifully carved on a wood stand or base. This is the first time that I have sean one of these and it lovely and rare.This piece came from an old collection... of rare and unusual Chinese Art objects, one of the best.
