Very rare and beautiful, original ca1920’s Pair of Native American Plateau (likely Nez Perce) Indian Bead Decorated, High Top Hide Moccasins.
&tbsp;&tbsp;&tbsp;&tbsp;This outstanding Pair of early 20th century Nez Perce Moccasins each measure approx. 9" long at their stiff hide soles and 11” tall at their high top cuff. The decoration is beautiful – all hand spot stitched and featuring stylized floral designs on the vamp and the flap.
...;These wonderful Nez Perce Indian Moccasins are sinew sewn by hand with spot stitched beadwork using multi-colored glass trade beads many of which are Charlotte cut giving the beadwork a shimmering reflective surface look. The Moccasins feature a tall, applied flap type, wrapped high top that is secured with concho style steel buttons. Both Moccasins retain their original rawhide laces and applied tongues.
The Moccasins offered here are unconditionally guaranteed original and of the period. They are NOT reproductions or modern recreations but original Plateau Moccasins crafted in the early 20th century. The Moccasins come with our “no questions asked” return privilege and our lifetime guarantee of authenticity. These rare and beautiful, ca1920’s Plateau Indian Bead Decorated Moccasins are in very good condition. The hide elements are well preserved – the uppers are soft and supple with some soiling and spots of staining. There is some separation between the uppers and the soles as can be seen in the scans below but there are no repairs of any kind. The beadwork is beautiful and very well preserved with no loss or damage. Please see the scans below for a good representation of the form and condition of these wonderful Nez Perce High Top Moccasins.
