RARE NICE Civil War Era G. Tiemann SKULL TREPHINE DRILL With Horn Handle (some issues on the handle- see pictures) Rare Civil War era Surgeons Trephines Drill for the Skull.This is a really fabulous Tiemann medical tool found. There is sharp pointer in the middle of the cutting saw to guide and push the piece of skull out of the tool after it has been removed from the skull.There is also a screw at the top that keeps the handle on, which appears to be made of horn.Tool measures 5 inche...s by 3 3/4 inches wide.Hole saw is approximately 3/4 inches in diameter.Tiemann Company originated in 1860, dating this to the Civil War era.Item is in great mechanical condition and is in wonderful shape for its age.Please see photos as additional description.A great addition to anyone's Civil War or early medical collection.Thanks for looking.Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions.Condition is vintage Used.Shipped with USPS Priority mail or USPS ground, your choice.Plus insurance.
