Very beautiful crucifix from Napoleon III period in blackened wood.The Christ and the background decoration are in silver metal.The background decoration is very finely decorated and have a INRI inscription plate.Christ is also made of silver metal, very finely carved with a very expressive face.On the back of the crucifix, there is still a handwritten label with these inscriptions :" C...e Christ a été béni et indulgencé à Besançon par le révérend père Dunoyer le 12 mai 1894". "This Christ was blessed and indulgenced in Besançon by the Reverend Father Dunoyer on May 12, 1894".Having various charming noticeable wear and loss of silver plate in places commensurate with usage and old age.With metal hanging bracket on the back ready to displayA great catholic collectors gift.
