This is a beautiful antique alternating current Century fan with 12 inch brass blades. It was patented on Dec. 29, 1914 by the Century Electric Co. of St. Louis Missouri. It has 3 speeds and oscillates. For its age and industrial strength it is fairly quiet, and especially no whining noises or creaks. The cage/frame measures 12 inches in diameter and measures 15 1/2 inches tall. The plug in cord is extra long, at 9 feet. Model # 102 CONDITION: This fan runs and works. HOWEVER, please s...ee last 3 photos in series for condition issues. As can be seen in the 2 photos before last, the cord at point of entry to mechanism has been taped with electrical tape and there may be tearing and/or loosening of cord. This means that although it works now, it needs to be repaired or handled with care for it to continue to work. Also, as can be seen in last photo, a large chunk of metal is missing from back of motor casing. It appears to have possibly been cut out? It is not visible from front and no more is crumbling or missing than what is seen. The frame is still super sturdy. Other than this, there is general wear to black paint around base and stand.
