This is an original antique (early 20th century, pre-prohibition) oak Peoples Brewing Co. beer barrel, marked on the top, bottom, and sides. The side markings look like they are a little out of order (the barrel staves may have been mixed up before the bands were nailed in place). A tap was added and a hole has been cut in one end of the barrel because it was used to serve tap beer at a bar. The wood is in good condition overall but has typical wear from age and use including minor tig...ht surface cracks, nicks, worn spots, and discoloration. The entire barrel has a slightly glossy protective finish over it. The entire piece is sturdy and solid, nothing is loose. The barrel itself (not including the stand) measures 15" H x 12" in diameter. It will be packed securely and fully insured during shipping.
