Beautiful French antique bronze classical style table lamp dating from the late 19th century. This beautiful lamp has so much detail throughout. The base of the lamp is decorated with heavily embossed detail with a sweeping feel leading up the centre column. To the top of the column are 3 delightful cherubs each with raised hands and appearing to hold the candle holder in place. From the top of the candle holder is a hooped piece leading to a shade holder with a decorative piece a...t the top. The glass shade is amber with a decorative etched floral design. The base of the lamp would have originally been a candle holder with the light holder being added at some time in its long life. This beautiful lamp would suit many rooms adding a touch of French elegance to your home decor.
Approximate measurements Height of lamp 71 cm (28 ")Maximum Width 22 cm (8 3/4")Diameter of Base 18 cm (7 ")Approximate Weight 3.4 KG (7.49 lbs)The lamp is in good working order with a gold colour flex brown on/off switch and gold 2 pin European plug it takes 1 large bayonet bulbs. The lamp wire comes from above the cherubs and hangs down the side of the lamp please see photo 10. The base is in good vintage condition with a rich aged patina, the bronze has been cleaned but not polished so you can decide on the finish. The glass shade is complete and free from chips or cracks.
