This Wheel set is a Great Replacement or Second wheel set for your Wheelman Antique 28" Safety Tire Bike. Now Lux Low has paint styles that Mimic Original Wood Rim Paint Schemes for that Classic Seamless Look. This 28" x 1 1/2" Lux Low Wheel set is made with High Quality Components: Black Velocity Blunt SS Alloy Clincher Rims, WheelSmith spokes, Good Old American Vintage Coaster Hub for Skiptooth Chains, and Black with Cream side wall Schwalbe Century Tires. The Velocity Blunt SS Rims have a profile that mimics the Early Antique Wood and Steel Covered Wood Rims, making this a great substitute for the original. The Blunt SS Rims are Slightly Narrower than the Blunt 35 thus making the Blunt SS better for Earlier TOC Applications where a smaller wood rims were used, ( Very Common to Real Early wood Wheel Bikes 1898 - 1916). We also went the extra mile and hand striped the rims with Double Gold Pin Striping for that Classic Vintage look. These Rims have a Classic Burgundy center with Double Gold Pin Stripes and Patina Distress Treatment, made to blend with your Early Original Bicycle. The Hubs are an Amazing Original Period Correct Set of New Departure Hubs, all Rebuilt and Ready to Roll. The tires are New Schwalbe Century Cruiser Bike Tires, which are one of our Nicest Tech Tires Featuring: a Nice Retro Style Tread Pattern for Easy rolling, and have the Puncture Protection System Kevlar®Guard (a protective Kevlar layer that is stronger, safer, more flexible, and smooth rolling with lower resistance). Technical Mumbo Jumbo: These 28" wheels are also Considered 29" or 700c Clincher wheels with the use of 700 x 38 or 700 x 40 tire it produces a 28" X 1.50" wheels. If you used bigger tires it produces a 29er wheelset. You CANNOT use smaller 700 road tires because the rims are too wide.
