Up For Offer We Have A Very Rare One of A Kind United States Air Force Lot. Between 1946-1955 The 46th Reconnaissance Squadron, Was assigned To Ladd Army Airfield, Alaska Territory, With A Mission, To Fly Reconnaissance and Photo Mapping Missions Over the Artic, along the Northern Border of The Soviet Territory in the Artic as well asDeep Penetration Recon Flights. All Of The Missions Were Classified Top Secret.Until The Classification was Dropped In 1999/2001 (con...flicting information on dropped classification. )During Their Mission They Found 3 Magnetic North Poles. The Squadron Was Redesignated As The 72nd Recon Squadron On Oct. 13, 1947, They Operated as The 46th/72nd Recon Squadron Until June 28, 1949. Aircraft Used During The Mission were F-13A Superfortress, and B-29F's.In The 20' X 24" Photos We Have The Forlorn Turkey, #4521775-An F-13A That Crashed Into A Hillside in 1947 95 Miles North Of Nome-2 Died While Attempting to walk out for help, 6 Were rescued While 3 Rescue Men Died. We Have Leaking Lena F-13A 4521773, as Well As two Unnamed Aircrafts One An F13-a And A B-29.In The Scrapbook That is 27" X 27" Is a Photo Of the Bucket Of Bolts 4521766-As Well As Boeings Boner 4521766, And Klondike Kutey (No Number)And #4486339 Carmencita Joe, Those Are Just A Few On The Ones that I Can Identify on The Photographs. This Collection Contains Well Over 100 Photographs, (not Counting What's in The Scrapbook) That Include Aerial Views Of The Artic, Town Photos of Alaska, Totem Poles, Eskimos, Houses, Cars Icebergs, Mountain Ranges, Water falls.As Well As Photos Taken In Mexico and other Warmer Climate places (not Identified)Beautiful Stunning Photos. Also Included Are The Original Envelopes That held the photos identified as belonging To Maynard E. White.Included in This Lot In The Back of the Scrap Book Is a Hand Drawn and Colored Pictureof an aircraft drawn by Ken White and signed when he was 14 years old. -The Ken White who Later went on to To Write World In Peril.
