I am selling some things from my mother's estate. She was an avid collector of dolls, toys and related items, some of which we will be listing in the coming months. This is a vintage antique 13" wax over paper mache hanging Christmas angel. It was likely made in Germany in the late 1800's, seldom seen in this large size. It has beautiful hand blown glass paperweight eyes. She probably held a trumpet as there is a small hole through her right hand. She has beautiful patina wit...h many scuffs and chips showing her age. Her right leg is cracked and has been re-glued at some time. The remnants of a silk skirt are still there. There may have been some paint touch ups. There a six small nails in her back which probably held wings and a hook where she would have been hung possibly as part of a nativity display.
