Antique Meiji Period Japanese sculpture of a bird of prey on a branch.
Wonderful depiction of a small bird hunting for food.
The branch is a darker patinated bronze and the bird may be brass.

The bird comes off the branch as photographed.

There is a small area on the back on one of the "rocks" that looks like a different metal (photographed).
Approximately 24cm - 9.5" high and 17cm - 7" at the widest part.

Photographed with and without flash to show deta...ils.

Purchased in an antique store in Carmel, California in the 1960s.
Possible repair to the base of the branch (photographed).
