Beautiful stylized EKUK mask of the KWELE tribe from Gabon.
These Masks are called EKUK masks and performed during the Bwete rituals. These are rituals to protect the village for bush spirits.
Beautiful cut mask, made with an eye for detail. With the typical for KWELE hart shaped face, coffee bean eyes and rectangle shaped nose.
In this case there are 4 more faces on the zigzag crown. Beautiful patine and white kaolin in the faces and red ears.
