This is a brilliant motorcycle book, printed and published in USA by Motorbooks International 1989, fine cloth binding with full color dust jacket, 255 pages very large in 13 x11 inch format, very good condition in and out 2 tears and repairs to dust jacket as seen in the photographs, inside in perfect and the binding, very rare and out of print original edition of this already very hard to find book. This book is the very best and ...most detailed pictorial book on early American racing motorcycles and their riders, very well written and researched content complimented by a stunning pictorial guide through American racing motorcycles of the pre war era. every type of machine and maker are included. Written by Steven Wright an expert on the subject who was at one time Steve McQueen full time motorcycle restorer, the book is very well made with very nice high quality paper which are all filled with amazing early photos which have been reproduced for the book perfectly. The inside cover flap reads - American Racer 1900 to 1939 In the beginning there were top speeds approaching 40 MPH. Pocket valved engines pimped iron to produce 2 full horse power in motorcycles that were more akin to bicycles with bolt on engines.
