This is an Antique 19th Century Arts and Crafts Period Leather Seated Stool. This stool is an excellent piece. It has a stunning appearance, and is an original piece from the Arts and Crafts move, movement. The stool has had a number of repairs through it's lifetime and it is a little rickety. The stool legs and frame are made from hand-carved oak with it's original wooden screws intact. Each leg has a craved... circular pattern at the base. This adds a stunning finish to the stool. The seating of the stool has a brown leather finish. Through time the leather has acquired a very strong patina, which enhances the overall appearance of the stool. Around the edges of the seating the leather has torn and in areas is worn. The upholstery of the seat can be seen. The leather is attached with metal studs, which is a great detail. In the centre of the seat, the leather is decorated with poker work, creating a flower design within a circle. This stool would make an excellent collectable piece from the Arts and Crafts movement.
