3 -- 19th C. Chinese Export Famille Verte Porcelain Rose Medallion Plate As Is
For the lover of Oriental Export wares, we offer these (3) Skillfully Executed Daoguang Famille Verte Plates for your consideration. The first plate features a well painted center reserve showing a rooster perched upon a rock. The plate features quality hand painted raised enamels with copious gold over paint accents.
It measure...s 9 1/8" wide and dates to the 19th century. The condition remains generally well preserved by most standards. The only flaw is well shown in the final two detail image #14 -- (2) edge rim chips measuring 1/4" wide & 1/8" respectively. Fairly inconspicuous. I note no other chips, radiating cracks, nicks, repairs & hardly any paint losses to speak of.
The next plates shows a center reserve featuring (2) goats. It measures 8" wide and dates to about 1870 or so.The only flaw is well shown in detail image #15 -- (2) edge rim chips measuring 1/4" wide. One can be seen from the front and the other can really only be felt by the finger on the edge. Otherwise, I note no other chips, radiating cracks, nicks, repairs & hardly any paint losses to speak of.
Decorated with an extended palette of famille verte enamels with gold, black & puce overpaints, this animal patterns are scarcer than the peopled scenics of this same era.
Finally, is the 6 1/2" cup plate with the birds. It has a single 1/16" edge nip only and no other flaws.
All worthy candidates for professional restoration!!
