This is a nice antique original portrait oil painting of a lion (see photos). The painting is an original work of art reverse painted on a glass panel and it is framed in wood picture frame (see photos). The item is not signed by the artist (see photos). The item is from a nice estate (see photos). The item looks to me to be from England for the origin (see photos and decide the age, the origin and the maker). There is some glare and shadows reflecting of of the glass that is visible ...in the photos. The frame has some signs of wear with some scuffs, some scratches, paint losses and wear. The painting has some wear, some paint losses and areas where it is not sticking to the glass (see photos and / or written description for the condition of this item). The item in total framed measures about 1 foot 1 and 3/4ths inches high and it is about 1 foot + wide. The painting portion without the picture frame measures about 9 and 1/2 inches high and it is about 8 inches wide. The oval medallion painted portion the lion is in measures about 6 and 1/4th inches high and 7 inches wide. This item would be a nice item to add to your collection.
