This a vintage EMPTY box, that is made in two parts. The top section is marked: "WESTERN...SUPER X...Progressive Burning / Smokeless Powder...WESTERN CARTRIDGE COMPANY - East Alton, Illinois, U.S.A...25 - 12 GA... 2& 3/4 IN. 1 & 1/4 Ounces...4 CHILLED SHOT...Patented June 9, 1925 Other Patents Pending...STEEL-LOCKED SHELLS." It measures 4 & 1/8 inches square, and is 2 & 1/2 inches tall. The condition is FAIR. The paper label on the box top is a bit scuf...fed. One side of the lid has a little writing in wax pencil. A small section is torn off (but the loose part is still present) on the bottom section of the box. It still displays pretty well. This box is guaranteed to be old & original, or your money back.
