Antique Fenton "Compliments of Spector's Department Store" Advertising Plate. These were made only in Marigold. It is Very Beautiful. It is in Great antique condition, however there MAY have been a very small chip that was smoothed on the edge (pictured). I do not know for sure since it is smooth to touch, but I wanted to mention it since it looks a little suspect to me personally. The Iridescence is beautiful pumpkin marigold with pink, yellow, blue, and green highlights. In the very ...center, the Iridescence is a bit worn, or possibly the iridescence just didnt stick during the initial application. You can see this when held to light. As described by John Resnik in his book The Encyclopedia of Carnival Glass Lettered Pieces, “advertising pieces laud a product, company, or service and were purchased by that entity to be given away as premiums or other forms of promotion.” There is no doubt they were popular, and used as premiums to tempt customers to the stores that gave them away.
