If you are viewing this on a mobile phone please go to the description section and click on read more, then you will see all the photographsThis auction is for a good quality, German bracket clock, I would list it as a just on or just before the turn of the century.The clock bears the marks of a J in a star, this is the mark for Junghans B12This clock measures approx 14 inches tall 360mm ( 16 inches ( 410mm ) with the brass handle up ) and approx 12 inches wide ( 300mm ) by approx 7.5 inches deep ( 190mm ) . It is a sizeable piece.
The door has a lovely bevelled edge glass, the door hands well and does not drop on the hinge when openedThis clock has a numbered chapter ring and a slow / fast adjuster and a silent and chime selector above.This clock strikes the quarter, half and three quarter hours on the chime bars and then strikes out the full hour on the gong.The oak case is in good order, as shownThe clock stands solidly on its four brass feet.The door opens and closes without any dropping of the hinges and all the glasses are in good undamaged condition and secure.
The clock weighs approx 14.5 pounds in imperial weights or approx 6.5kgThe clock has been stood for a long time in a house, where it was not wound, so it will need a service. All the springs are fully wound up and need letting down.
The clock will run for a few minutes but then stop, I dont think there is anything particularly wrong apart from needing a good service. The striking mechanism works well and can be heard on youtube, to listen put in Bracketclock1ajg then go onto the filter and press video, you should find it, if not I can always send it you on Whatsapp.
It comes with its key that is not original but des fit well It will come with its key and pendulum wrapped separately inside the clock case.For the money, this is a lot of clock and I am sure the purchaser will be pleased.This clock will need to positioned on a flat, level surface, as it needs to be fairly level for all the mechanism to function well and correctly.I package well for shipping ( see my feedback ) , but please be aware that after a trip through the postal system it is always best to have items serviced as they have delicate mechanisms which can be adversly affected by knocks and bumps during transportationA good item in as stated condition.If you are looking for a brand new clock with no imperfections this is not the piece for you, this is over 110 years and is in good condition for its ageAs this is a large item, collection is an option.
