I am selling my mostly ethnographic collection (per family request). This is a nice Nogwei (Nogwi) from the Yatmul (Iatmul) tribe in Papua New Guinea, middle Sepik river. I got it on Ebay from Galleri Nimba quite a while ago with the following toetags: # 560 and what I was told from the Rudy Caesar collection who collected before 1935; and Greg Manning Galleries, lot 703, sale #802, 2/15/97. 53" tall, 8" wide, 6" thick. They were used at the end of the yam harvest in the third and... last ceremony what was reserved for the initiated people. Cowry shell eyes, hooks at the feet, surface of the body with incised can symbols. SHIPPING CHARGE IS FOR THE CONTINENTAL US. OTHER DESTINATIONS PLEASE INQUIRE. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: THE QUOTED SHIPPING CHARGE IS WHAT I WILL PAY TO SHIP THE ITEM TO EBAY'S HUB IN KENTUCKY - EBAY WILL CHARGE YOU TO SHIP IT FROM THERE TO YOU UNDER THE GLOBAL SHIPPING PROGRAM. YOU CAN ESTIMATE YOUR ADDITIONAL COST BY ENTERING YOUR COUNTRY AT THE SHIPPING SECTION IN THE LISTING. Please search SBK for my other listings
