For sale is this incredible vellum Ethiopian Coptic manuscript. This piece is a leaf from an prayerbook from antiquity. It was handwritten in black and red ink. It measures about 6.25” x 3.5”. This piece is in incredible condition, both sides of it are well preserved. The red ink highlights specific points in the text. This piece likely dates back to the medieval period or might be slightly post medieval. I was not able to find anything on it to accurately date it. The vellum is st...urdy and has been well preserved. This would be an incredible piece to frame or display. It would have been used by early Christians in the Coptic Ethiopian region. Pieces like this are getting rare and hard to find! Don’t pass it up!
