This is an original antique (very early 20th century) cast iron work table with small table top surface and foot pedal that might have been used for some type of press. The foot pedal (shaped like the sole of a shoe with the number "8" on it) is attached to a chain that is fed through the pole up to the table top. There is a metal hook hanging from the bottom of the chain, and I believe some parts are missing (a spring and maybe some other parts) as the chain currently hangs loosely wi...th no tension. The table is in otherwise good condition and is sturdy and solid with some minor wear to the paint and some areas of minor surface rust. It was repainted at some point. The top wood layer of the table top is missing. Please see all photos as part of the description as I am not very familiar with this item and have not found other examples for comparison.
The table measures 37 1/2" H, the top measures 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" and the rectangular part of the base measures 12 1/4" x 14 1/4". The foot pedal adds and additional 7" to the width of the base. The pedal itself measures 9 1/2" long. The table will be partially disassembled to reduce the risk of damage and cost of shipping. All pieces will be labeled for easy reassembly, packed securely, and fully insured during shipping.
