RARE 1/9 PLATE AMBROTYPE - AN UNBELIEVABLY GORGEOUS YOUNG LADY - IN FULL CASE - If you love gorgeous hard plates from the 19th Century, then take a good look at this lovely young lady. The ninth plate ambrotype contains a raven haired beauty adorned in a classic understated off the shoulder style of dress, a simple black ribbon placed in her hair and a pair of Victorian era drop earrings as her only piece of jewelry. Her delicate facial features wear highlighted by the superb light the... operator placed her in front of. Once her likeness was taken and processed her cheeks were dusted with a bit of warmth to finish her portrait. The photo resides in a full case with the original hinge. CONDITION: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. Even my iPhone photos cannot begin to show the excellent contrast, tonal range and wonderful sharpness of her portrait. Her cheeks have a soft hand tinting applied. The tiny blemish can be seen her chin is the significant flaw you may find. The case retains the original hinge seen on the inside, however, the outside of the hinge has somewhat split. The red velvet pillow has a wonderful floral vase pressed into the middle. I guarantee the next owner will absolutely adore very pretty portrait in their collection.
