Original Description:
The very figure of prosperous and abundance, Hotei (Chinese: Mi Li), the happy Buddha, with his fan, wandering the countryside, dispensing riches and caring for children. The work exemplifying Meiji aesthetics and balance of elements, contrasting areas of massive volume with details and angular edges that embellish and punctuate the circular forms. Here the corpulent face of Hotei offers an affable smile. The presence of Hotei in a home is an ancient promise of abundance and well-being.... Also Known as the Laughing Buddha.

Measures 14 inches tall and weighs 12 lbs 12 ounces. In very good condition with only minor oxidation around the right wrist (shown in close-ups in last 2 pictures). Made in Japan sticker on the bottom.
