Description:Theitem up for bids is a classic mid-century modern studio pottery lamp by Robert L. Morgan. It features a bottle shaped form with aslightly flared neck and brass fittings. The glaze is a lovelyspeckled soft sky blue with a satiny eggshell finish. You can seeMorgan's hand work in the clay and it feels heavy for its size. Itcomes as found with the harp and finial, there is no shade. The baseis covered with a cork disk and is signed R.L. Morgan. It's a goodexample of Morgan's... table lamp designs and a beautiful shade of blue, havesome fun and bid!RobertL. Morgan was born in California and served in the US Navy during WWII. Afterwards he studied at the School for American Craftsmen atDartmouth, New Hampshire. He and his wife Dorothy, whom he met atDartmouth, then established their first pottery in Oregon. Theyreturned to New Hampshire in the 1950's and worked, for a briefperiod in the early 1960's, in Winter Haven, Florida with ties to theCraft Center. They both exhibited and sold their work through theLeague of New Hampshire Craftsmen, as well as taught pottery makingthrough the League. Robert L. Morgan exhibited at the First NorthwestAnnual Ceramic Exhibition of 1950 and the Contemporary Crafts andMuseum Gallery (CCMG) of Portland, Oregon.

Condition:Thislamp is sold 'as-is' as shown in the photos. As with all vintagelighting it should be checked by your electrician prior to use. Thecondition is good vintage. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. Itshows age appropriate handling wear with age patina and scatteredscuffs and scratches. The lamp works, the switch feels okay, the cordlooks decent but has a few scrapes/scuffs in the sheathing. Thepictures are the best indicator as to condition, please use the zoomfeature and check them out.Dimensions:Thebase is about 12-1/4” tall and about 5-3/4" in diameter at itswidest.The overall height is about 22-3/4" tall to the top of the harp. It's a 9" harp and the finial is about 1-3/8" tall.
