Nicevintage bamboo rod, I believe it to be a Montague "Sunbeam"with original reel seat, cork (with some ridging) and winding check.I stripped, cleaned, inspected and finished with two coats of MOWvarnish. I up-graded with a NOS agate stripping guide, newsnake guides at today's spacing standards, hook keeper and tip-top, ferrules look original and are good fitting. Wrapped in vintage(thesethreads are not produced anymore and ...are getting harder tofind) blue/white "Jasper" with orange tipping on basesection, finished with a light coat of epoxy. There was a small section that Ire-enforced at the tip, at the last guide wrap.(Hardly visible) I"lawn casted" and believe it is a 6wt., put it through my stress testand it passed. Put it through my "water test"(took it fishing) and what a joy to cast, caught a couple small fish and it handled them well of course. If I didn't already have too many, I would be keeping thisone!! A really nice rod for this price. (This rod should sell for atleast $180.00!) Comes with new rod sock and will beshipped in a PVC tube. If you are looking for a really nice bamboo rod…donot pass this one up! "Born Again Bamboo" is what I am striving forin my retirement...to give every old bamboo rod that I can acquire, a chance ata new life again!
