Description A beautiful English antique Victorian solid sterling silver & faux tortoiseshell letter opener by the silversmiths Levi & Salaman (1892 - 1927), in excellent clean condition and with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1898. Excellent quality genuine 122 year ol...d example with a decorative foliate embossed sterling silver handle and is complete with its original undamaged polished faux tortoiseshell blade. Great item and as a bonus there are no added personal engraved monograms or estate crests.Measurements Measures approx 5.25 inches (132mm) in length x 0.65 inches (16mm) wide across the blade. Date English antique 19th Century Victorian solid sterling silver with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1898, (date letter "y"). Marked on both sides of the handle.Maker Silversmiths initials "L & S", (Levi & Salaman 1892 - 1927).
Condition Excellent clean condition with no splits or repairs to the silver handle, definitely no wear holes and no knocks or dents, a really lovely example. The polished faux tortoiseshell blade is undamaged and full length and has good colouring. There are no added personal engraved inscriptions. Very nice item.
