North Brothers "Yankee" 2100 10" Hand Brace Excellent ConditionThis heavy duty "Yankee" hand brace was manufactured by the North Brothers Tool Co. from Philadelphia PA and was widely used by many homeowners and professionals before the widespread introduction of power tools.  The North Brothers original 2100 is considered by many to be the best heavy duty hand brace made in America and this is an earlier brace that was made prior to the purchase of North Brothers Tools by Stanley ...Tools.This brace is from a local estate sale and the reversible chuck was not working properly from not having been lubricated in probably many decades.  The chuck on this brace has been disassembled, checked for damage, and then cleaned and lubricated.  It  operates like a new one, solid and smooth. The ratchet selecting and reversing mechanism sounds like the tumblers on a safe when it operates. The ratchet and chuck both work as they should with a very smooth ratcheting action in either direction selected.  Placing the selector in the middle position locks the chuck and stops the ratchet action. The chuck jaws are undamaged and work perfectly. Likewise the top ball bearing supported pad has been cleaned and lubricated and works like new.  Other than a few signs of normal light use (see pictures) this brace is in excellent well cared for condition and is a great heavy duty brace.(see all pictures)  The top pad and side handle are in excellent condition with the "Yankee" letters still embossed on the top pad.(see pictures) This brace is a very nice North Brothers Tool and would be an excellent addition to a manual tool collection or a great user.  If you will put two or three drops of oil in the oil ports once a year or so, this brace will still be working for another 80+ years.   This brace's chuck will work with older square shank bits as well as modern round bits. Please check my feedback, and ask any questions you have.Shipping is $14.95 USPS Priority Mail   US Only   International Transactions Must Use Ebay Global Shipping Only          Thanks for Looking
