NOTE: The above photo is very close to the actual postcard. The postcard is a nice brown with a golden tone and has good contrast. It does not have the pinks seen at the top border and on the actual photo
IMPORTANT: The red text on the front of the above photos is there for watermark purposes and is not on the actual photo. This is an interesting antique Real Photo Postcard. It is captioned in pencil at the top "Roosevelt Dam, Ariz." and is marked in black ink at the bottom "Above Dam". A touring car is in the foreground with a man standing, one at the wheel and a woman in the back seat. Theodore Roosevelt Dam is behind them as is also a building or viewpoint. Construction began in 1903 and Roosevelt Dam was completed in 1911.Theodore Roosevelt Lake is a large reservoir that was formed by the construction of the dam. It is located about 80 miles northeast of Phoenix. The postcard is a nice brown color with a golden tone and has good contrast. It is in very good condition with slightly bumped corner tips. If you turn the postcard to catch glare, you see silvery sheen as well as a tiny area on the hood of the car that is a little dull. It looks like a super thin film of foreign material. This is hardly worth mentioning, but we prefer not to omit. The back has what appears to be an ink stain. The postcard is 5 3/8 by just under 3 1/2 inches. We believe this postcard is from about 1912 or so, give or tak a few short years. We believe the touring car is of the brass car era, as indicated by the brass lamp. What a nice view of tourists enjoying the Roosevelt Dam!Please email questions. Our opening bid is the reserve amount. We pack with great care using heavy cardboard. We will COMBINE PURCHASES tosave shipping costs, but you must wait for our invoice.
