Vintage Rittenhouse Doorbell / Dinner Chime Master Model 550 and 551
My house was built in 1958 and I found this unit in the garage. From what I read online, it was sold by Rittenhouse starting in 1956. This unit needs cleaning and the rubber washer on the bottom chime post (left side) needs replacing. The original would have included a mallet that stored at the base so the chimes could be manually tapped. This unit does not include the mallet.The body has some paint on it - looks l...ike someone didn’t b take it down when painting the wall (see photo). I have not tried to remove the paint.
