1/6 Plate Daguerreotype in Case - Woman & Child Post Mortem Photo Tinted
Offered for sale is a beautiful 1/6 plate daguerreotype photograph in original case. The photograph is a very clear shot of a woman and child - so much crisper in person. I find it's tricky to photograph dags - my image doesn't capture of the beauty of this photo. This photo has some light tinting in the cheeks. I believe this to be a woman with post mortem child - the child does not look to be alive.
<...br>Condition: Case and photo both have some wear expected of a piece this age. Photo has a couple small spots. Looks like the spine was repaired with cloth archival tape at some point. Overall really beautiful photo.
