This unique antique toaster, known as American Beauty, was made by the American Electrical Heater Company of Detroit. It is Model # 5825 and toasts without coils. Rather, the toasting is done by a flat rectangular iron piece that is 4 3/4” x 4”, and is held in the middle of the toaster by two metal slides (one on either end). It is in very good condition, having typical wear, e.g., small rust “blemishes”, that would be expected from use. I tested it for a few seconds and ...it heated up quickly. Also, the toaster rack is removable. Printed underneath is : American Electrical Heater Co. Detroit U.S.A. CAT. NO. 5825. (See photo). It is a neat toaster.
