Greetings computer audiophiles, aficionados and enthusiasts! Here we have a really clean pair of vintage Harman-Kardon 6941V Computer Speakers. They look and sound great, but they are missing their AC Adaptor part #HK01T (a plug-in wall wart converter). The original Adaptor (aka model A481511OT) provided 15VAC (not DC) @ 1.1A to the speakers through a cylindrical center-pin type 1/8” connector on the... back of the Right channel Speaker. Power Supply and Amplifier circuits are located inside the Right channel Speaker cabinet. Therefore, an RCA phono jack that is located on the back of the Right speaker connects to the Left channel speaker via the brown RCA plug on the cable that leads to the Left Speaker. The audio input is a green 3-conductor 1/8” (mini headphone) plug. Each speaker cabinet has a high output 3” long-excursion speaker with a large magnet, mounted in a ported bass-reflex baffle, with a green LED indicator light to indicate operation and full connectivity. The Speakers were primarily designed for computer audio, but will serve equally well with an MP3 player, portable CD Player or any audio source with a standard three-conductor (tip/ring/sleeve) 1/8" mini-phone plug output.
These Speakers are in excellent condition, with no outstanding flaws to report. One of our pictures shows the speakers being tested with our 15 Volt AC Power Supply connected. The sound is surprisingly powerful, hence the need for a 15 volt power supply. Any 15-Volt AC supply with sufficient current capability will suffice of course, but perhaps rummaging through a box of AC Adaptors at a garage sale may even produce the needed Adaptor.
